After reading The Poet X earlier this year I wanted to read what Elizabeth Acevedo came up with next. With The Fire On High seems like the great follow up to the Poet X, garnering the same rave reviews. I was therefore really excited reading the extract of the book, with inclusions of recipes which seemed great being a book about cooking. I also think that Emoni's voice is also strong and I can't wait to see where the story goes especially as she is a teenage mother. I trust that Acevedo will do the story justice and can't wait to get my hands on this book. The cover of the book is also stunning so what is not to love about the book and the insides are beautiful too. Basically, I can't wait to read this book and devour it!
