The comparisons being made here to Angie Thomas really piqued my interest, and maybe set my expectations too high.
However, I feel like if that comparison hadn’t been made it would have drawn me in quicker. This novel seems like it is going to take the comfort of food and cooking and create a coming of age story set to that warm backdrop. I’m intrigued to see where it goes.
