First off this book cover is absolutely stunning! Secondly I adore Acevedo's writing! And this one reads just as poetically as Poet X which I loved!

I love that this book is essentially about a teen mum wanting a better life for her child. I love that it raises issues around race and stereotypes. Emoni seems like such a beautiful, brave and admirable character and I can't wait to read more!
