This was a beautiful start to a story, borh in structure as well as content.
In the extract we are introduced to the teenage protagonist (and narrator) Emoni and to some of the people closest to her, including her two year old daughter.
There is a lovely sense of place achieved in the writing, particularly through the colloquialisms used.
