A heartwarming YA story!
I've been looking forward to this book after hearing so many fantastic things about this authors previous book so I was so excited to win this from Reader's First but although I enjoyed it, it wasn't a total win for me.
I loved how short the chapters were, I know they won't be for everyone, but I love short and choppy chapters so that worked perfectly for me. It makes for such a fast-paced read.
Emoni was a great main character and I loved seeing how all the different aspects of her life came together. It was really great to see a YA book about a teen mum as this isn't something i've read before.
However, my problem is that there were quite a few different subjects brought up that I wish had been explored more. It felt a bit too surface level for me. This could be because I don't read a lot of YA though, so it may be more of a me problem.
Overall, this was a fun, quick read that I enjoyed a lot but I don't think it'll be one that sticks with me.
