Follow Emoni as she navigates her senior year of high school with a small child after experiencing a teen pregnancy during her freshman year. But Emoni is determined to succeed regardless of her situation, armed with a need to achieve, be a good role for her daughter, all the while getting in some cooking while she's at it. There was so many things I loved about this snippet. The writing was beautiful-fluid and intriguing. The characters were summed up quickly efficiently, and well enough to paint a great picture. I loved how selective Emoni was at naming her child. How her experience of teen pregnancy was covered so briefly but summed up so well. Personally, this book wasn't something I'd usually be drawn too but I loved the writing style and the lifestyle painted of Emoni and now I really, really want to read this.
