With The Fire On High is a contemporary fiction novel about a Afro-Latino protagonist who juggles high school as well as her home life where she is raising her own child. She has the dream of becoming a chef and this book follows her journey and through this novel we see the struggles and the dedication she has towards what she is passionate about.
This novel is very inspiring as it show us her life through her eyes and also shows us what life is like for a POC (Person of Colour).
I havent read the full novel yet but I have read the preview and it has made me want to buy the book even more. With The Fire On High is currently on my TBR (To Be Read) list and I am excited to see where the author goes with this book, the plot and the style of writing. I am also looking forward to exploring the characters more and seeing where there lives are headed.
