This is a story about the life of a teenager Emoni, who got pregnant and had a baby while still at school. It is an insight on her life and the struggles of growing up relatively poor and with a baby but also focuses on her love of cooking.
It was a fun and lighthearted read and made me very interested in following Emoni’s life. I was intrigued to read more about her and her perspective on life and the relationships between her and the people she loves. I feel like this is an easy book to get into and it will be quick to get on the characters lives and point of view. I liked the fact that the book started with a recipe to show the reader about Emoni’s love for cooking and it sets the book apart from other books I have read that may feel similar.
