The first thing that really drew me to this book was the gorgeous and eye-catching cover which is so beautiful. The story follows a young mother, Emoni, who lives with her grandmother and has a serious passion for food and cooking. There's a real warmth to this book and it's characters and I really enjoyed reading the lyrical and quirky writing. There are also recipes peppered throughout the book which I found to be a really nice touch and added something different to this charming read for young adults. It has a nice message which encourages young people to follow their dreams and whilst that might not always be realistic - the intention is good. Emoni was a character that was very easy to root for and I loved reading about her life.
