This is absolutely a book that I can understand why a lot of people love it. Elizabeth Acevedo has an incredible writing style, that manages to suck you into her work, making you emotionally invested in her characters and rooting for them every step of the way.

Having read Clap when you land, I was a little sceptical of reading this as its not written in verse like her other books, but it did not mean that it was any less impactful.

I absolutely love seeing characters facing motherhood, and I don't think its something that's shown enough in YA!

The food side to this was so interesting, and something I really enjoyed seeing.

All in all this was a book I really enjoyed, and will definitely recommend
