I first saw this book on booktok, and immediately thought the cover was super pretty. I checked it on goodread and I saw that it got some very good comments and a good rating, so I know I would like it. So when a saw it here, I had to read the first look, and I LOVED it. The recipe at the beginning? I tought that idea was really good and original!
It's so easy to read, and I got attached to the characters from the start. Emoni seems so beautiful and strong. I like the way she talks about cooking. It seems magical and it makes me want to taste her meals. Her 'buelita and her bestfriend are so lovely. They are so helpful with the baby. And her teacher is amazing.
From what I read, there seems to be diversity and strong women in this book, characteristics that I love to find in my reading.
I was sad to finish the first look so quickly. I want more. I need this book!
