So, if you didn't already guess by the five stars sitting up there, I LOVED this book. From the front cover and the quirky recipes scattered through the book, to the Spanish phrases I didn't understand.. The whole book was just fun and I'm all for that.

I don't read many books from the perspective of a young mother, and I absolutely live for the fact that she wasn't confined to being JUST that. Yes she slayed at motherhood but she also went out and worked damn hard to fulfil her dreams, all whilst still trying to be the one thing the world was trying to push her away from being... A teenager. The family dynamic in this book was so heartwarming and Emoni is without a doubt one of THE MOST empowering women I've ever had the pleasure of reading about. I can sort of relate to Emoni, yes I was older than her when I fell pregnant but I was still branded what many people considered "too young" and I struggled, I had my partner and my family and I struggled, hats off to the girl.

One thing I could have done without however was the over use of the phrase "I let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding." Nope, I'm not for that.

But over all I can't complain about this book, the writing was spot on, it oozed originality and I'm so happy I was blessed having read it.
