Loved this book- hard to put down
Was recommended this book online due to an interest in Waitress the musical and I would one hundred per cent recommend it to anyone who loves reading about different cultures or coming of age stories. I found the story brilliant, there was so much involved in this book but it was not one bit confusing, it was simple but engaging enough that I struggled to put it down! It was one of the only books I have read where I was able to visualise almost every detail of Emoni's life, whether it be her cooking or the characters in general.
It was the first book I have read that had food and cooking at it's and it reminded me of my love for baking and cooking. Emoni has a natural gift for pairing flavours that do not usually go together, tweaking traditional recipes and making them her own, and it was really nice to read/go on the journey of her learning to use her gift, as everyone in her life tells her she has.
