First of all... that cover!!! It’s so beautiful and colourful and I love it. I love contemporary covers, and I love covers with black women on too, they’re so beautiful and we need to see more of them!
Another thing... I am so hungry now! One of the things that really stood out to me in the book was the food imagery. I love food and I’m a foodie, so when I see a book that has such a strong emphasis on food and it’s influence in our life, friendships, culture and family, I just had to read it!
This was my first of Elizabeths books and I’ll definitely read her other work now!
I think this book was a delight and felt really indulgent and rich. The descriptions and use of language was beautiful.
