'With The Fire On High' is a fantastic ya novel about a young women who has a passion for cooking, but is also the mum of a little girl, and has to work to support them both and 'Buela. This book really made me appreciate the struggles of individuals and to make the most out of life. ✨ I love how easy this book was to read: the short chapters, recipes to start every new section of the book, Elizabeth's relaxed writing style, fun and relatable characters; and all of these ingredients helped to create a perfect bookish recipe. up a fantastic It's a brilliant book and I loved every page of it. 😊
My favourite character was definitely the protagonist, Emoni. She was such a strong and independent character making her so real and interesting. The story truly felt as though it was hers.
