I originally read the preview for this book on readers first and found the book to have well written descriptions with interesting characters. Unfortunately, when I did get the book I couldn't finish it. The book was different to my usual type and with all the amazing reviews I thought I'd give it ago.
I found the writing style hard to follow and felt the story started to drag on. I don't mind short chapters, but I felt they never really led to anything.
The story of a teenage mother was different and something not many books seem to feature. Race is also explored which I felt made the book better.
In the end, I didn't find the story particularly interesting and I didn't find myself rooting for or caring about the characters. The writing style, for me, was just to confusing. The cover attracted me most as it stood out but I don't think I'll be reading this author again.
