17 year old Emoni is a mother and a high school senior and an aspiring chef. Babygirl is the best thing that's ever happened to her, but is it too much to juggle?

I FLEW through this! I honestly enjoyed it so much. Everything about it was amazing: the writing style, the characters, the story, the art work.

I really enjoyed the culinary aspect - I haven't read a book that has so much detail and love for cooking.

We follow Emoni through the final year of high school (in the US) and see her journey with a toddler and a jam packed schedule.

The writing was superb: so easy to read. I felt very immersed, almost as if I was there.

The narration is first person from Emoni's perspective, so the reader feels her deepest thoughts alongside her. There were some thought provoking moments and life lessons sprinkled in.

All the art (the cover and the chapter art) is flipping beautiful. Look at it!
