Each recipe fits In Amazingly with the story and makes me hungry for more... and for the dish described within each recipe! A novel with brilliant descriptions on a mother’s love and how she’s fits into society as a teen mother. The diversity of the book is wonderful to see and when we first dive into Emoni’s world where she leaves the house in the first chapter and we experience the Spanglish around her and what she knows as home. I love how the characters are described; the way how any character intro used is down so by how they are apart of emoni’s life and how they affect her. Seeing how her ‘buela is always there for her and the description of her earliest memory of her cooking and how buela reacts really showers the love and detail poured into each word on every page
