I chose this book as the premise was very interesting and while I don't always tend to enjoy contemporary fiction, I heard good things about the author's work so I had to try it. Safe to say I was blown away by the book. It was such a heartwarming and beautiful story of a teenage mum with a passion and gift for the culinary arts. The writing was beautiful and had an amazing flow to it which I found engaging. I loved the really short chapters which are something that I appreciate in the books I read. There were no nonsensical descriptions which therefore makes it a quick read. The central food theme made me occasionally hungry so be prepared for that ;) The inclusion of recipes every so often gives it a nice touch and the illustrations on the end pages and throughout the book are gorgeous! I couldn't stop admiring the cover. A beautiful book inside and out.
