This is a lovely, uplifting and surprising read. The cover is beautiful, colourful and eye-catching and calls out to be lifted from the shelf. This book tells the story of Emoni, her daughter and grandmother with a lovely supporting cast of friends, family members and teachers. I wasn’t initially sure who the target reader was but as I read more and more I think this would appeal to anyone who wants some light but fun fiction with some lovely characters to root for. The writing style is easygoing and whilst some parts are predictable and a little cliche, the story works overall. I like the little touches such as recipes between sections and emails between family members. Definitely worth a read!
