I loved this book everything from its detailed description of mouth-watering food and cleverly portrayed characters. This book made me feel like I could taste and the food described in the book.It deals with issues so relevant to teenagers; teen pregnancies, lgbt+ and trying to decide who you are and what exactly you want to with your life. I thought the plot was carefully considered and did not end the expected way and instead was delightfully surprising. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who is feeling a little lost in their life and would like to be reminded of their hopes and dreams. This book highlights how you can still follow your dreams despite being a teen mum and faced with so many difficulties in your life. I truly love the character of Emoni and the rich way Elizabeth Acevedo describes her right to her core. This is a perfect profound read for teenagers and even adults. I loved it!
