This is the first David Jackson book that I've had a look at, and the first impression makes me want to read more of his work. It is obvious from the writing that there are previous books in the series, but so far it feels like this could be read as a standalone too. I'm intrigued to find out what the cryptic message that Matthew left Sara means.
The front cover is quite dark, and apt for the story (so far); but I'm not sure how it would stand out in a sea of crime thrillers - then again that thought applies to all the other books on the same shelf!
