I think there were two reasons why I didn't enjoy this book as much. The first being it was competing with the four-star read of Don't Make A Sound (aka the previous book in the series that I freaking loved and really didn't expect to) and the second being that the storyline just felt all over the place.

Now I'm writing this review almost four months after I read it so forgive me if I'm a little off, but that should tell you something. This book really didn't leave any lasting impressions on me. I remember that the clowns were back, and the guy in the basement was one? Maybe? I can't remember. Then it was the woman whose husband was killed and then the blackmailing and following of gang members like people. i don't know, it was a messy read and I wish it had more of an entertaining storyline.

It just felt like a filler book. also some news if you're a fan of the series like I am, the author is not authorised to publish any more books :( ikr. his publisher wants him to focus on other books but he did say in an email to me that he would self-publish book five if it came to it, so hopefully, we have another to look forward to! :)
