I have mixed feelings about this book. DI Nathan Cody who prefers to be known as Cody had go to a murder scene, a man had been nailed to the floor and killed but Cody was turned away and told he could not enter, he was also told that he needed to see a therapist to see if he is capable of doing the job after some bad cases he had had to deal with.
It didn’t go well with the therapist and Cody is convinced he will lose his job.
He gets sent to the home of the murders mans wife to interview her but finds her strangely calm, she explains about a message left on her answering machine, it seems to be in code but she says she doesn’t know what it means.
Meanwhile Cody is still trying to comes to terms with a previous crime he had been involved with during which he had toes cut off and his work partner had his face cut off. Can Cody find the people behind it, are the two cases linked to each other?
I did enjoy the book but felt like it had been left up in the air for the next book, hate when that happens
