This is the first of David Jackson’s DS Nathan Cody book I’ve read and I must admit I feel like I’ve been missing out. He’s definitely a troubled character as the references to his previous books allude however I feel as though I would have fully understood him better if I’d read them, don’t misunderstand me you are given plenty background but he’s such a complex character I wish I’d followed him from book one. Sara, the victims wife is a much simpler character but so ballsy she’s fantastic. She’s written to be difficult and whilst she’s not someone you can empathise with I really liked her. David Jackson did a commendable job weaving this story together and there’s plenty of twists and turns. I do recommend buying this but I’d urge you to buy and read the previous Nathan Cody books first.
