I wasn't too sure on this book so it took me a while to get around to reading it. Now that I have completed the book, I wish I had read it sooner as It was such a great book.

The book is meant to be part of a series I believe but I did not read any of the others before this and I could still follow the story. I think some parts of the story such as the clown backstory and talks of an abduction case would have made more sense with having read the past books but it can be read as a standalone easily.

The story follows DS Nathan Cody, a detective working on a murder case os Sara's husband Matthew. At the same time as this investigation, he is working his own private investigation which is very personal to him which the police can know nothing about. This nearly ends in death for a college, Sara and himself but he manages to prevent this and piece the puzzle together and how it links him to Sara without him realising for a while.

Overall this was a great book. I wont be reading the others in the series purely because i feel it wont work reading them backwards when i know what happens. But i would definitely recommend this author to people!
