Well this certainly is a page turner. It's a fairly short book and it does keep you absorbed from start to finish.
Sara's estranged husband has been brutally murdered and, as ex military, she has the skills and fighting ability to go looking for answers.
Meanwhile police detective Cody is being haunted by memories of his ex colleague being brutally killed in front of him. He himself was tortured - and now the clowns that did it have come back to haunt him.
Throughout the tale you feel that the two events must be linked - and indeed they are - but the common ground did feel a little contrived. Is it really possible to manipulate someone into murdering and torturing another? Maybe but I'm not sure I really bought it.
Still it is an action packed thriller - so you're getting exactly what you'd expect from the cover. The ending leaves us nicely wondering what arch clown, Waldo, is going to do next. One thing is certain, he's not finished with Cody yet...…..
