I’m not normally into political novels as I don’t tend to follow politics and find the story can get bogged down with it.

This had me interested from the start. A young guy has a bizarre encounter with an older woman, desperate for a child. Nine years later, a woman has been killed in a sniper attack, but it’s doubtful she was the intended target.

I assume the two are connected, but at the moment it feels like two separate stories.

Even though the book has been translated from Norwegian it still reads well enough and held my interest.
