The first chapter of this book seemed like a mystery in itself when a woman in her thirties was found in the street by a much younger male stranger. The woman had been drinking too much , she was the worse for wear and the young man took her home. As soon as he got to her home, she announced that she wanted to have his baby. He told her he was gay, but he still left her a sample so that she could do what she wanted with it. She did not know his name but he managed to find out hers because he wanted to remember her if he should need to in the future.
Then the next chapter takes us through time several years when a small group of female friends are having a cup of coffee in a coffee shop. There is a shooting and one of the women gets killed and another gets injured. There is a belief afterwards that the wrong woman had been killed.
This is a great start to a story that gets better as it goes along.
