This book was really utterly awful, the cover and the small glimpse promised me so much!! It promised me an epic journey to Norway with one of Norway's most prolific award winning crime writers Anne Holt. I've heard nothing but good things about the Selma Faulk series, but upon actually reading it for myself I have to say that I absolutely hated it! The translation itself was abominable, so a lot of it made no sense whatsoever, Selma is the most unlikeable detective I've ever had the misfortune to read, she's blunt, unkind, so flawed she should be sectioned! And the book rambled on so much, with paragraphs going through so many subjects it was very hard to keep up or make sense of any of it. And there were random sections slotted in and old man visiting his wife's grave, a board meeting with someone waffling on about confusious, this book is terrible, it made no sense to me whatsoever, it felt like a load of smaller stories stuffed together in a rush. Sorry Anne, this book really wasn't for me.
