A Memory for Murder in the Selma Flack series by Anne Holt is a political thriller, which begins when the Private Investigator is injured in a shooting that kills her friend, a minor member of government. When more suspicious deaths follow, Selma is determined to figure out the connection so she can find the culprit that murdered her friend. But with strange things happening in her flat and the feeling that someone is after her, will she be able to keep one step ahead?

If I'm honest, I found Memory for Murder to be a little too political for my take and a bit of a slow starter. It took me a while to get into and I think if I had read some of the other books in the Selma Flack series, I might have connected with the protagonist quicker or better.

In parts, I found Flack unlikable as a character. She comes across as selfish, self-absorbed, cold, and rude, which may have been more understandable for me if I had read some of her previous experiences.

Not really a book for me, but I did find the conclusion exciting, despite the lack of a likable protagonist.
