I absolutely love a good detective novel but this just didn’t do it for me, the story was ok and the individual plot lines ok but it was just to drawn out there was so much that didn’t need to be in there. Selma was a lawyer turned private investigator ( but she doesn’t seem to do a lot of investigating, it just sort of falls in her lap). The lead detective was the best character for me even though we don’t really know what he does either, the journalist has a good part in the book and we find out quite a lot about him, would of loved to know more about her ex policeman friend other then that she helps him quite a bit (even if only to help herself). Overall it was worth the read if you can get over all the things we don’t really need in it to make it a great detective story. Unfortunately this book has not made me want to read any others in this series which is unfortunate
