This is the third Selma Falck book I have read and with each book I an amazed at the complicated plots and how they work out.
This story starts with Selma having lunch with two friends. Out of nowhere one of them is shot in the head and the bullet ends up in Selma's shoulder. The question is who was the intended target as the friend had moved suddenly forward.
When a high court judge is found hanging in an apparent suicide, it is clear that things are not as they seem. Selma is torn between trying to have a quiet life in order to see her grandson, something that her daughter will not allow if she puts herself in danger or gambles. In between times her home is being violated and she has no idea who is doing it.
Working with both the police, Einar and the Police, Selma slowly works out the tangled web that links the murders and why the murderer has chosen to commit them.
This takes a little while to get going, but once it's going it keeps going.
