When Selma Falck is a lucky survivor of a sniper attack in which one of her best friends was killed, the police and even Selma for a time believes she was the intended victim.
But Selma then starts to delve deeper and realises that she was just collateral damage in something far wider and darker than she believed.
Determined to settle the matter of her friend's death once and for all and to find out the truth of why she was murdered Selma is unwittingly putting her own life in danger and this time it could be closer than she thinks.
A meandering narrative which sometimes to be honest felt a bit disjointed in parts.
I did like some of the characters, some were to me quite endearing, Fredrik Smedstuen and I adored Einar, at times he came across as utterly barmy but I purely found him a tad eccentric which can only be a good thing in my book and highly intelligent in some ways.
A very sweet character.
So I really engaged with the people in the story.
But overall this was a good solid read.
