This book was right up my alley. I love a true crime book and this was a captivating read. I had never heard of Graham Young before and the concept of a 14 year old poisoner blew my mind. Speaking about the court case, his stay at Broadmoor prison was interesting, even a bit unnerving and set in the backdrop of post war England made the novel more eerie than first perceived.

What made this book more interesting and unlike the majority of true crime books was that it included interviews from friends and families, Youngs diary entries, witness reports and the impact it had on relatives and the wider socio-economic fallout that can occur in an already fragile environment.

Overall this was a well researched true crime novel and gave myself the insight into a disturbed child's mind that continued to progress as he got older. Would definitely recommend for fans of the true crime genre but also for those who are looking to get invested in these types of novels.
