The dual storyline and two narrators make for an intriguing opening to the book. The first chapter set in the woods is seriously creepy. The second chapter started slowly for me with just a bit too much background information about the town and Jake's family (although it may be there for a reason the reader will discover later). It picked up for me once we learned more about Jake and of course the arrival on the scene of Hanne. I get the impression memory will be an interesting theme of the book - memory loss (Hanne) but also have the memory of certain events can have lasting consequences (like Malin's choice of career). I like the inclusion of a cold case element to the story.

I have also read some great reviews of this book.
