I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes when reading books in the mystery/thriller genre, I find it hard to keep up with the different characters and what’s going on. I was pleased that even though there are a few characters, I found the book easy to follow and was able to keep track of them. I enjoyed the description of the little town in Ormberg. I was really able to picture the sleepy, almost deserted town.

Each chapter is written from a different characters perspective as well as adding snapshots from Hanne’s diary. This ends up being a crucial part of the story as Hanne is suffering from dementia and cannot remember what happened to her or her partner on the night she is found crawling out of the woods with her clothes torn, bloody and bruised. Her diary holds the key to important information.

Overall this is an excellently written, gripping novel.
