I really enjoyed this book. It was really intriguing and kept my interest all the way through, especially the last 1/3rd of the book I had to finish in one sitting to find out what would happen.
The book is set in a fictional town which was really brought to life in the book as being beautiful but run down and also the creepy feeling of knowing something awful had happened there.
The murder mystery itself was really exciting and there were a few twists and turns , just enough to make you suspicious of what happened but not enough to guess the ending.
The main theme of the book is more to do with the refugees living in the town and about prejudice and suspicion of people who are different, this is explored in how people feel and act towards the refugees.
I like the style of the book as it is told from the perspective of more than 1 character and also we get to slowly learn about Hanne, who has lost her memory through reading her diary.
