As a fan of Scandi-noir this book did not disappoint.
The descriptions of Ormberg were very atmospheric to the point that you really could feel like you were there yourself watching these crimes unfold and even feel the chill of the cold crisp air.
The descriptions of people who lived there and how the area used to be could sometimes get a bit repetitive in parts but I loved the use of the different narratives as told through Hanne, Jake and Malin and this kept the book exciting and the story going at a steady pace.
The last few chapters were definitely action packed and had a brilliant twist that even an amateur armchair detective like myself didn’t manage to see coming.
I would recommend After She’s Gone to all fans of crime/thriller books as the twists and turns really did make it a worthwhile read.
