Everything about this book says winter. The cover, the setting, the language used. It's freezing and you know it. Not many authors set the scene as well is done in this book.
The premise of this book is really interesting. A dementia sufferer, Henne, may or may not hold the answers to solving a very serious crime that our female police officer, Malin, is determined to solve. But how will we find out the answers we need. The author, Camilla Grebe, tackles this skillfully and the result is After She's Gone. I've seen this book described as Scandi-noir and that's just about right. This was really one of my first forays into this genre and I loved it, I'm looking forward to reading more of Camilla Grebe's work.
