I love a good Scandi Noir thriller, one where the mystery is dark and troubled and I can feel the cold of the ice and snow lifting off the page! After She's Gone covered all the bases for me. The story begins with a police team from Stockholm being brought in to the remote and economically depressed town of Ormberg to investigate the unsolved death of a little girl twenty years before. But then one of the police team goes missing. The story is told by three different voices and this gives us three completely different perspectives on the case. There is the police officer who has a connection to the original case, the profiler with early onset dementia who writes everything in her diary, and the troubled teen who finds the diary. I found all three voices convincing and everything moves to an exciting conclusion, keeping you guessing along the way. It took me a little while to get into the different voices telling the story, but I really enjoyed reading this book and would happily read anything else by Camilla Grebe.
