This book gripped me from the beginning. It focusses on a small town in Sweden where 10 years a young girls remains were found. Hanne and her boyfriend Peter are brought in to investigate this cold case. Hanne has a secret that no one knows: she is suffering from dementia and keeps a journal to allow her to remember events. One night Hanne is found running out of the woods. Peter is no where to be seen but Hanne can not remember anything; where Peter is, how she got in the woods, where her diary is.
The book has different chapters based on a different person and the story evolves as to what has happened to the young girl and also another womans body is found. Jake has the diary but has his own secrets and can not come forward to help the police in their search....
It is a gripping thriller which I couldn't put down and I really enjoyed it. There were some dark moments and lots of suspense.
