This is a really enjoyable Swedish crime novel which has been translated really well into English.
The story is written from the perspective of a few of the main characters. Malin is a police officer who has returned to her hometown to work on a murder that could be linked to a body she discovered as a child may years before. Jake is a secret cross-dressing teenager who finds a woman and her diary in the woods... And the diary belongs to criminal profiler Hanne who is suffering from the early stages of dementia.
Sometimes when a story has a number of different leads it feels disjointed, but this book had a great flow.
There was a good pace to the story, and a twist at the end which gave the book a sharper edge.
I think all lovers of crime fiction would enjoy this book.
