I loved this book, could hardly put it down. I love the character Luke and his background and ‘sickness’ and the way the whole story is told through the diary he has found. This makes it completely different to what I’ve read before.

The chapters are split between 2 characters Luke and Malin, Malin is a police officer who is investigating into a cold case that she discovered many years ago and the new cases that are arising that have very similar connections.

The gorier the better and this definitely brings this for me. The descriptions of the scenes and of the bodies and accidents throughout make your toes curl.

There is a hidden message throughout the book regarding refugees and xenophobia which is really eye opening. It is based around peoples ridiculous outlook on other races and other individuals that are different from their own. The line in the book “It could have been you who had to flee from war and starvation” is so accurate.
