I love historical fiction and have not read any from this era. The description and opening pages draw me in to the dangerous and powerful world of Alexander. I love the descriptive writing of the palace and you can feel the anger and frustration of Alexander at dying and having to name a successor when he had so much more to achieve. This book sounds full of power and drama.
