After reading the blurb for this book I did want to read this book and enjoy it as history is one of my interests.
However I found this book to be quite hard work with the multitude of characters that are introduced around the death bed of Alexander while also stating the interest they had in the throne. For me this loses the pace and plot of the book with a multitude of names and places which confuse the reader and the direction of the novel.
The writing style is good but again I find it hard to comment on this as too much was introduced too quick and too soon.
I would hope all of this would become clearer as you read further on but I would find this more of a chore to read than a leisurely past time.
