Never read this author before or actually a novel set during this time period but I really enjoyed it.
Alexander is dying and refuses to name an heir plunging the largest empire in the world into chaos.
Perdikkas is now self proclaimed king but the rest of the contenders whether legitimate or otherwise are angry at being left out of the race to the throne.
So starts a series of plots, counterplots and whispers of murder to eliminate some of the competition but who will be the victor and really ascend to the throne?
The first in a new series I cannot wait for the next instalment to see what happens.
I am a total convert now to this kind of book genre and this will definitely appeal to historical novel fans.
