The book is set in the year 323bc. It follows a kingdom after their leader ( Alexander the Great) has passed away. He has passed away and the kingdom has no new leader. This leaves the kingdom in unexplored territory and they aren’t really sure where to go from there. As can be expected as the news travel that Alexander is dead there begins a fight for the throne. Each rival plotting and going further than the previous one in an attempt to claim the throne. I feel the book is perfect for a reader interested in this period of history. The author has excelled in exploring the historical element of this book and is perfect for an avid historical fiction fan. Personally this isn’t my usual genre and I struggled with the length of the names and how many characters were in the book
