Stunning Historical Read

Alexander the Great has died, and (quite problematically) he has not named an heir. There is great confusion and tension as everyone rushes to claim power. Especially the seven bodyguards, a secretary and multiple other people.

The writing style in this novel was absolutely amazing. So beautiful and descriptive, it made everything come to life. I especially find that with historical novels, the writing has to be descriptive or else I get confused or slightly bored easily.

However, I found that I had a bit of difficulty with the names. There were so many names of characters and places, that I eventually began to forget them. Some of those names were also very similar, which only ended up making me confused.
