Ascension is an amazing sci-fi book with elements of mystery weaved all throughout it. The story revolves around Léonor, a girl who towards the start of the book seems quite naive and a bit of a crybaby, but as the story goes on, you can see her develop into a brave young lady.
There are so many things about this book I love, I really like the fact that none of the characters are perfect and all have a flaw of some sort, Léonor’s being the salamander on her back.
One thing I wasn’t as fond of was the huge timeskips. Most of the competition is actually skipped over. I understand that timweskips were needed but i felt like they could have been filled in a bit more.
Overall, I absolutely loved this book as it still leaves a few questions unanswered (like who was the one that Serena had hypnotised!!) and I absolutely cannot wait for the next instalment!!!
